2023 WCF 4-H & FFA Livestock Information

New & Improved changes for 2023:
We have several schedule changes for livestock shows as well as check-ins & weigh-ins. Please look over the schedule carefully!

Entries for 4-H , FFA & open classes exhibitors will be done online from June 1st to July 1st. Please use the link below to create an account & submit entries online. Please refer to the fair book for correct divisions & classes. If you have questions about the process, feel free to stop in or give us a call at 515-961-6687 during regular business hours for assistance. We look forward to streamlining these processes to make your fair experience the best yet!

ONLINE ENTRIES CLOSE JULY 1st.
Payments can be made online via credit card or you may pay cash or check. Payments must be received or postmarked by July 1st.

Warren County Produced, Hunter Hack & Riding Consent forms can be turned into Bishop Insurance Agency by July 1st or uploaded in FairEntry by July 1st. Forms are located below.

Just a reminder that all animals will be shown in the Large Animal Showring except Rabbits & Poultry.

Warren County Produced Information

The following species are now eligible for Warren County Produced.

Beef (Breeding, Market)

Sheep (Breeding, Market)

Swine (Breeding, Market)

Meat Goat (Breeding, Market)

The form is due, either in person delivery or uploaded to the fair entry site by 11:59 pm on July 1st.

The WCP form is available below and can be uploaded to the Fair Entry system beginning June 1 and ending July 1. There will be no receipt given through the system.

There are duplicate copies available from the Fair Secretary at 701 West 2nd Avenue, Indianola that will allow the exhibitor and family to have copy.

Livestock Check In & Weigh In Information

Due to many changes in the show schedule, check ins & weigh ins have had to also move. Please see the full schedule below. All livestock must be on the grounds by noon on Wednesday, may arrive on Tuesday.

2023 Check-in/Weigh-in Schedule

Tuesday morning

7:00 to 7:30 AM 4-H/FFA Goat weigh-in/check-in, vet check before stalling—bring vet check paperwork to scales.

7:30 to 8:30 AM 4-H/FFA Sheep weigh-in/check-in, vet check before stalling—bring vet check paperwork to scales.

Scales close at 9 AM

Tuesday evening

6:00 to 8:00 PM 4-H/FFA Swine vet check before stalling—bring vet check paperwork and completed scale tickets to scale.

Wednesday morning

6:30 AM 4-H/FFA Advanced Cattle Feeders Pen of 3 weigh-in/check-in

6:45 to 8:00 AM 4-H/FFA Market Beef weigh-in/check-in

8:00 AM to 9 AM 4-H/FFA Breeding Beef check-in. Listen for announcements.

All cattle on grounds by 9 AM. May come in Tuesday. Scales close at 9:00 AM

All livestock on grounds by noon on Wednesday, may arrive on Tuesday.

Exception are feeder calves that come and go home same day on Saturday.

11 AM- 4-H & FFA Dog Show

Thursday, July 28th
8 AM- 4-H, FFA & Open Breeding Sheep Show, followed by the Market Sheep Show
9 AM- 4-H/FFA Horse & Pony Show
2 PM- 4-H/FFA Meat Goat Show

Friday, July 29th
8 AM- 4-H/FFA Swine Show
1 PM- 4-H/FFA Horse Show-Speed Events
6 PM- Open Bucket Calf Costume Show

Saturday, July 30th
8 AM- 4-H/FFA Market Beef Show
-Followed by Beef Showmanship--both Market and Breeding together following Market Beef Show
-4-H/FFA Breeding Beef Show following 4-H/FFA Beef Showmanship.
-4-H/FFA Supreme Beef Showmanship—winner of Junior, Intermediate, Senior divisions compete.
-Open to Warren County Feeder Calf show—30 minutes follow end of Breeding Beef and Supreme Beef Showman.

9 AM- 4-H/FFA Rabbit Show

9 AM Open Poultry Show
1 PM 4-H/FFA Horse Show (Fun Show)
1 PM 4-H/FFA Poultry Show
5:30 PM Master Showmanship


Sunday, July 31st
8 AM- 4-H/FFA Performance Beef Show
9:30 AM- 4-H/FFA Advanced Cattle Feeders Show
10 AM- Open/4-H/FFA Dairy Goat Show
-Followed by the Open/4-H/FFA Dairy Cattle Show
2 PM- 4-H/FFA Bucket Calf Show followed by the Open Class Bucket Calf Show

Livestock Auction Order

The 2023 Livestock Auction will be held on Monday, July 31st at 7:30 AM. All species will sell in the large animal show ring.
The order is as follows:
