December 9, 2016 – Indianola, Iowa – The Warren County Fair of
Indianola, Iowa has received an Award of Distinction for Competitive Exhibits
in the Display Method and/or Prop Category from the International Association
of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE).
There are
14 award categories for Competitive Exhibits, each divided into 5 divisions by
attendance, that a Fair or Expo can enter. The entries are evaluated and judged
by a team of industry leaders. These individuals are selected from the
membership of International Association of Fairs and Expositions, which has
over 1,200 members from around the globe.
“The Warren
County Fair should take great pride in being selected for this prestigious
award,” said Rebekah Lee, Director of Communications for the IAFE.
The Warren
County Fair’s entry featured a new display case that is used to highlight the
winning open class culinary exhibits during the fair. The display case was
custom-designed by volunteers after receiving a donation of two large windows
from Renewal by Andersen.
“The
Warren County Fair has many things to be proud of,” said Fair Manager Jo Reynolds. “This award reminds us how many things we have to be thankful
for – especially the sponsors, volunteers and exhibitors who make the fair
possible.”
The awards
were presented during the General Session on November 29, 2016, at the 126th
annual IAFE Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. The purpose of Competitive
Exhibits awards is to encourage fair members to share methods, ideas, props,
new or unique classes and fair themes, which enhance or expand competitive
exhibit areas.
The IAFE, based in Springfield,
